Since the band's inception in March 2006, a deep set list and uncompromising originals have become Flakjacket's mainstay. Performing as either an acoustic duo or as a pared-down three piece, Flak's enjoyment of playing music is infectious. The band's mission is to entertain while staying away from the obvious, and to provide a unique live experience for any audience.
The Skinny Flakjacket plays from Albany to Plattsburgh NY and beyond, has recorded with Grammy award winning engineer Marc Fuller, and is one of many hardworking bands hailing from upstate New York's vibrant music scene. The band has appeared on numerous bills at top clubs throughout the region, including Valentines (Albany), The Monopole (Plattsburgh), The Albany Bayou, Caffe Lena (Saratoga), and many more. In addition, the band has performed live on national net radio juggernaut RadioUgly.com and Flakjacket's original material has hit airwaves from college to commercial stations, perhaps most notably on indie legend 102.7 WEQX. A busy performance schedule reflects a willingness to travel almost anywhere and demonstrates their love of being on stage. New recordings of the trio's signature original material are planned for release in 2008. Stay tuned.
